The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never refused me entry from the time I embraced Islam, and he never saw me without smiling.
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد حدثنا إسماعيل عن قيس
ما حجبني عنه رسول الله ﷺ منذ أسلمت ولا رآني إلا تبسم
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari related it, 5/162, no. 3025, in the Book of Jihad, chapter on one who cannot keep his seat on horses, and Tirmidhi, 5/678, no. 3820, and said, hasan sahih, and Ibn Majah, 1/56, no. 159.19074 (duplicate) Muhammad bin Jafar narrated to us. Shuba narrated to us from Awn bin Abu Juhayfa, from Mundhir bin Jareer, from his father, who said, we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ early in the day, when a group of people came to him, barefoot, naked, wrapped in woolen garments or cloaks, with swords slung over their shoulders, most of them, indeed all of them, from Mudar. The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed color when he saw the destitution they were in. He went inside, then came out, and ordered Bilal, who gave the call to prayer and the second call, and he prayed, then gave a sermon, saying, "O mankind, fear your Lord who created you from a single soul", to the end of the verse, "Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer", and he recited the verse in Surah Hashr, "And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow" [Hashr 59:18], let a man give in charity from his dinar, from his dirham, from his garment, from his measure of dates, from his measure of wheat, until he said, even if only with half a date.He said, then a man from the Ansar came with a bundle of goods that his hand could barely carry, indeed could not carry, then the people followed one after another, until I saw two heaps of food and clothing, until I saw the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ beaming, as if it were gilded. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, whoever introduces a good practice in Islam has its reward and the reward of those who act upon it after him, without any diminishment of their rewards, and whoever introduces a bad practice in Islam bears its burden and the burden of those who act upon it after him, without any diminishment of their burdens.Sahih (19074, duplicate). Its chain of transmission is sahih, and it is found in Muslim, 2/704, no. 1017, in the Book of Zakat, chapter on encouragement to give charity, and Nasai, 5/75, no. 2554, with similar wording.
