I came in to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and found gourd before him.I asked, "What is this?"He replied, "We use it to increase our food."
حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن إسماعيل يعني ابن أبي خالد
دخلت على رسول الله ﷺ وعنده الدباء فقلت ما هذا قال نكثر به طعامنا
Its isnad is sahih. Hakeem bin Jabir is one of the trustworthy Successors, and his hadith is found in the Sunan works. The hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah, 2/1098, no. 3304, in the chapter on Foods, on gourds, and he said in Zawaid, "Its narrators are trustworthy." It is also found in Tabarani, 2/258, no. 2080.
