He was in charge of the sacrificial camels of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, I asked, "Messenger of Allah, what should I do with any of the camels or sacrificial animals that become injured along the way?"He replied, "Slaughter it, then dip its sandal in its blood, then leave it for the people so they may eat from it."

وكان صاحب بدن رسول الله ﷺ قال قلت يا رسول الله كيف أصنع بما عطب من الإبل أو البدن قال انحرها ثم ألق نعلها في دمها ثم خل عنها وعن الناس فليأكلوها
