Waail bin Hajar reported,

I saw the Prophet ﷺ say the takbir, meaning he opened the prayer, and he raised his hands as he said the takbir. He raised his hands when he said the takbir, raised his hands when he bowed, and raised his hands when he said, "Allah hears whoever praises Him."Then he prostrated, placing his hands level with his ears. Then he sat, spreading out his left leg beneath him. He placed his left hand on his left knee and placed his right forearm on his right thigh. Then he pointed with his index finger, placed his thumb on his middle finger, and folded the rest of his fingers. Then he prostrated, with his hands level with his ears.
