Jundab reported,

A man was wounded in battle and carried back to his home. His wound caused him such pain that he drew an arrow from his quiver and stabbed himself in the hollow of his throat. When this was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, he said, narrating from his Lord , "He raced ahead of Me with his own soul."

حدثنا عبد الصمد حدثنا عمران يعني القطان قال سمعت الحسن يحدث

أن رجلا أصابته جراحة فحمل إلى بيته فآلمت جراحته فاستخرج سهما من كنانته فطعن به في لبته فذكروا ذلك عند النبي ﷺ فقال فيما يروي عن ربه عز وجل سابقني بنفسه
