Ibn Abbas performed tawaf around the Kabah with Muawiya, and Muawiya began touching all four corners. Ibn Abbas said to him, "Why are you touching these two corners when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not touch them?"Muawiya replied, "No part of the House is to be neglected."Ibn Abbas responded, "You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example to follow" [Ahzab 33:21].Muawiya said, "You have spoken the truth."
حدثنا مروان بن شجاع حدثني خصيف عن مجاهد
أنه طاف مع معاوية بالبيت فجعل معاوية يستلم الأركان كلها فقال له ابن عباس لم تستلم هذين الركنين ولم يكن رسول الله ﷺ يستلمهما فقال معاوية ليس شيء من البيت مهجورا فقال ابن عباس {لقد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة} فقال معاوية صدقت
