I came to the Prophet ﷺ at al-Abtah while he was in a red tent of his. Bilal came out with the water left over from his ablution, and people were either receiving sprinkles of it or getting a share of it.Then Bilal called the adhan, and I kept following his mouth this way and that, meaning right and left. Then a short spear was planted in the ground for him, and the Prophet ﷺ came out wearing a red cloak, or a red garment. It is as if I am still looking at the gleam of his shins. He led us in prayer toward the spear, either Dhuhr or Asr, two rakats. Women, dogs, and donkeys would pass by and were not prevented from doing so. He continued to pray two rakats until he reached Medina.Waki said on one occasion, "He prayed Dhuhr two rakats and Asr two rakats."
