He narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he prayed at al-Batha with a short spear planted in front of him, performing two units for the noon prayer and two units for the afternoon prayer, while women and donkeys passed behind him.

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Awn bin Abu Juhayfa is trustworthy, and his hadith is found in the collections of the group. The hadith was narrated by Bukhari 1/294, no. 817 Fath, in the chapter on wudu, on using the leftover water from people's wudu, and in 1/577, no. 495, with his chain and wording, and Muslim 1/361, no. 503, in the chapter on prayer, on the barrier of the one praying, and Abu Dawud 1/183, no. 688, with similar wording, and Nasai 1/235, no. 470.
