Ibn Jafar reported that Shuba said, I heard Talha al-Yami say, I heard Abdul-Rahman bin Awsaja say, I heard Bara bin Azib narrate from the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Whoever lends a milking animal as a gift, or guides someone along a path, or gives milk to drink, will have the reward equal to freeing a slave. And whoever says ten times, 'There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things,' will have the reward equal to freeing a slave."He used to come to us when we stood for prayer and would pass his hand across our chests or shoulders, saying, "Do not let your rows be uneven, for then your hearts will become uneven."He also used to say, "Allah and His angels send blessings upon the first row," or "the first rows."And he said, "Beautify the Quran with your voices."I had forgotten this last part, but Dahhak bin Muzahim reminded me of it.

قال ابن جعفر حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت طلحة اليامي قال سمعت عبد الرحمن بن عوسجة قال سمعت البراء بن عازب يحدث عن النبي ﷺ قال من منح منيحة ورق أو هدى زقاقا أو سقى لبنا كان له عدل رقبة أو نسمة ومن قال لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير عشر مرار كان له عدل رقبة أو نسمة وكان يأتينا إذا قمنا إلى الصلاة فيمسح صدورنا أو عواتقنا يقول لا تختلف صفوفكم فتختلف قلوبكم وكان يقول إن الله وملائكته يصلون على الصف الأول أو الصفوف الأول وقال زينوا القرآن بأصواتكم كنت نسيتها فذكرنيها الضحاك بن مزاحم
