The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Hassan bin Thabit, "Compose satirical verses against the polytheists, for Jibreel is with you."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الشيباني عن عدي بن ثابت
قال رسول الله ﷺ لحسان بن ثابت اهج المشركين فإن جبريل معك
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related this hadith (5/144, Shab edition) in the Book of Military Expeditions, chapter on the Prophet's ﷺ return from the Confederates, and Muslim (4/1933, no. 2486) in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions, chapter on the virtues of Hassan bin Thabit.
