Shuba did not hear this directly from al-Bara. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a group of the Ansar and said, "If you must sit by the roadside, then spread the greeting of peace, help the wronged, and guide those who have lost their way."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا شعبة أخبرنا أبو إسحاق
شعبة ولم يسمعه من البراء أن رسول الله ﷺ مر بناس من الأنصار فقال إن كنتم لا بد فاعلين فأفشوا السلام وأعينوا المظلوم واهدوا السبيل
