The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said from these planks, or from this pulpit, "Whoever does not give thanks for little will not give thanks for much, and whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah. Speaking of Allah's blessings is gratitude, and neglecting to do so is ingratitude. Unity is a mercy, and division is a torment."Abu Umama Bahili then said, "Hold fast to the greatest body of believers."A man asked, "What is the greatest body of believers?"Abu Umama replied, "It is this verse in Surah an-Nur, 'But if they turn away, then upon him is only that with which he has been charged, and upon you is that with which you have been charged' [Nur 24:54]."
حدثنا عبد الله حدثنا يحيى بن عبد الله مولى بني هاشم حدثنا أبو وكيع عن أبي عبد الرحمن عن الشعبي
قال رسول الله ﷺ على هذه الأعواد أو على هذا المنبر من لم يشكر القليل لم يشكر الكثير ومن لم يشكر الناس لم يشكر الله والتحدث بنعمة الله شكر وتركها كفر والجماعة رحمة والفرقة عذاب قال فقال أبو أمامة الباهلي عليكم بالسواد الأعظم قال فقال رجل ما السواد الأعظم فقال أبو أمامة هذه الآية في سورة النور {فإن تولوا فإنما عليه ما حمل وعليكم ما حملتم}
