The Prophet ﷺ said, "The example of the one who upholds the limits set by Allah the Exalted, the one who transgresses them, and the one who is lax about them is like a group of people who drew lots for places on a ship. Some of them got the upper deck and others got the lower and rougher part. Whenever those on the lower deck wanted water, they had to pass by those above them, which troubled them. So they said, 'What if we made a hole in our portion of the ship to draw water from there, sparing those above us the trouble?' If the others let them do as they wished, all would perish, but if they restrained their hands, all would be saved together."
حدثنا إسحاق بن يوسف حدثنا زكريا بن أبي زائدة عن الشعبي
عن النبي ﷺ قال مثل القائم على حدود الله تعالى والراتع فيها والمدهن فيها مثل قوم استهموا على سفينة فأصاب بعضهم أعلاها وأصاب بعضهم أسفلها وأوعرها وإذا الذين أسفلها إذا استقوا من الماء مروا على أصحابهم فآذوهم فقالوا لو أنا خرقنا في نصيبنا خرقا فاستقينا منه ولم نمر على أصحابنا فنؤذيهم فإن تركوهم وما أرادوا هلكوا وإن أخذوا على أيديهم نجوا جميعا
