I said to Ammar bin Yasir, "Abu al-Yaqzan, tell me about this course of action you have taken. Was it based on your own judgment, or something the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entrusted to you?"He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not entrust anything to us that he did not entrust to the people at large."

قلت لعمار بن ياسر يا أبا اليقظان أرأيت هذا الأمر الذي أتيتموه برأيكم أو شيء عهده إليكم رسول الله ﷺ فقال ما عهد إلينا رسول الله ﷺ شيئا لم يعهده إلى الناس
Its isnad is sahih. Its narrators are trustworthy and well-known, and Qays bin Abbad Dubai is among the trustworthy senior Tabiin, a Mukhadram. Muslim narrated the hadith, 4/2143, no. 2779, in the Qualities of the Hypocrites, and Abu Dawud, 4/217, no. 4666, in the Sunnah, on what indicates refraining from speech during civil strife.
