The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a gold ring on me and ordered me to throw it away, so I threw it away and have not worn one to this day.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن حصين عن سالم بن أبي الجعد
رأى رسول الله ﷺ علي خاتما من ذهب فأمرني أن أطرحه فطرحته إلى يومي هذا
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are well-known and trustworthy, and the hadith has been mentioned before in similar form many times. Haythami said in 5/151, "Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih."
