I said to Muhammad bin Hatib, "I have married two women without any tambourine being beaten for me."He replied, "What a bad thing you have done. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What distinguishes the lawful from the unlawful is the sound,' meaning the beating of the tambourine."
