Urwa bin Mughira reported,

I was with the Prophet ﷺ one night on a journey. He asked me, "Do you have any water with you?"I replied, "Yes."He dismounted from his riding animal and walked away from me until he disappeared into the darkness of the night. He was wearing a cloak, and he tried to pull his arms out from its sleeves but could not, so he drew his arms out from underneath the cloak. He washed his hands, then wiped over his head.I then went to remove his leather socks, but he said, "Leave them, for I put them on while my feet were in a state of purity."So he wiped over them.
