Its isnad is sahih. Mashash, with a damma on the meem and a light first shin, is Abu Sasan Wasiti, and he is trustworthy. Ibn Abu Hatim said, "Mashash Khurasani, Abu Sasan, I asked my father about him, and he said, 'When you see Shubah narrating from a man, know that he is trustworthy, except for a few specific individuals.' I said, 'What do you say about him?' He said, 'Truthful, sound in hadith.' Abu Zura was asked about him, and he said, 'Abu Sasan is Basri, there is no harm in him.'" My father said, "Trustworthy." Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 66/2/4.The hadith was narrated by Nasai, 2:47, through the route of Shubah.
