A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Messenger of Allah, we have learned how to send greetings of peace upon you, but how do we send blessings upon you?"He replied, "Say, 'O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah, bestow favor upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You bestowed favor upon Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.'"
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا سفيان عن الأعمش عن الحكم عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى
أن رجلا قال للنبي ﷺ يا رسول الله قد علمنا السلام عليك فكيف الصلاة عليك قال قولوا اللهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت على إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد اللهم بارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما باركت على إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد
Its isnad is sahih. It has already appeared under 17004 from Abu Masud Badri, and it is found in the sahih collections. Hakam is Ibn Utayba.
