I was holding the halter of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ she-camel while she chewed her cud, her saliva running down between my shoulders, when he said, "Allah has granted every rightful claimant his due, so there is no bequest for an heir. The child belongs to the marriage bed, and for the adulterer there is only the stone. Whoever claims descent from someone other than his father, or attaches himself to people other than his own patrons, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people."Affan said that Hammam added, in this chain of narration, without mentioning Abdul-Rahman bin Ghanem, "and I was beneath the underside of his mount's neck." He also added, "no ransom or substitute will be accepted from him." And in Hammam's version, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon and said, "out of aversion to them."
