I saw Yala praying before the sun had risen. A man said to him, or it was said to him, "You are one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, yet you pray before the sun rises?"Yala replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that the sun rises between the two horns of Satan."Then Yala said to him, "For the sun to rise while you are engaged in the affair of Allah is better than for it to rise while you are heedless."

Its isnad is daif due to the obscurity of Yahya bin Yaala. He is mentioned in Tajeel, but the author was unable to identify him, and Husayni said about him, "There is something questionable about him." His son Muhammad bin Yahya was deemed reliable by Ibn Hibban, but Haythami said in 2/226, "He is also unknown." The hadith, with similar wording, appears in Ibn Majah 1/357, number 1253.17883m - Abu Asim narrated to us, he said, Abdullah bin Umaya narrated to us, he said, Muhammad bin Yahya narrated to me, he said, Safwan bin Yaala narrated to me, from his father, that the Prophet ﷺ said, "The sea is Hell." He said, so they said to Yaala, "Do you not see that Allah says, "When the seas are set on fire"?" He said, "No, by the One in whose hand is the soul of Yaala, I will never enter it until I am presented before Allah ﷺ, and not a drop of it will touch me until I meet Allah ﷺ."Daif (17883m). Its isnad is daif due to the obscurity of Yahya bin Yaala, as mentioned before. However, Haythami, after having declared him unknown in the previous isnad, said about this hadith in 10/386, "Its narrators are reliable." The hadith was narrated by Bayhaqi 4/23.
