Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "I wish I could see the Prophet ﷺ at the moment revelation descends upon him."Later, when they were at Jiranah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was under a cloth being used to shade him, and a group of his companions were with him, including Umar. A man came to him wearing a long cloak, smeared with perfume. The man said, "Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man who entered the state of ihram for umrah while wearing a cloak, after having smeared himself with perfume?"The Prophet ﷺ looked at him for a moment, then fell silent, and revelation came to him. Umar gestured to Yala to come forward. Yala came and put his head inside the cloth, and there was the Prophet ﷺ, his face flushed red, breathing heavily for a while. Then the state passed from him.He said, "Where is the one who just asked me about umrah?"The man was sought out and brought to him.The Prophet ﷺ said, "As for the perfume on you, wash it off three times. As for the cloak, take it off. Then do in your umrah what you would do in your hajj."
