The Prophet ﷺ said, "With every newborn boy there is an aqiqah, so shed blood on his behalf and remove the harm from him."Ibn Sirin used to say, "If removing the harm does not refer to shaving the head, then I do not know what it means."

عن النبي ﷺ قال مع الغلام عقيقته فأهريقوا عنه الدم وأميطوا عنه الأذى قال وكان ابن سيرين يقول إن لم يكن إماطة الأذى حلق الرأس فلا أدري ما هو
