He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say on the day of the conquest of Mecca, "No man of Quraysh shall be executed in captivity after this day."None of the rebels of Quraysh lived to embrace Islam except Muti. His name had been Asi, and the Prophet ﷺ renamed him Muti.
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن زكريا حدثنا عامر
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يوم فتح مكة يقول لا يقتل قرشي صبرا بعد اليوم ولم يدرك الإسلام أحد من عصاة قريش غير مطيع وكان اسمه عاصيا فسماه النبي ﷺ مطيعا
