A man asked him, or he said to a man, "Do you remember when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of the naqir and the muqayyar," or one of the two, "and the dubba and the hantam?"He replied, "Yes, and I bear witness to that."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, One of our companions narrated to me, saying, I heard Arim say, "Do you know why he was named Duljah?"We said, "No."He said, "They traveled with him by night to Makkah, and his mother gave birth to him during the night journey at that time, so he was named Duljah."
حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي عن سليمان عن أبي تميمة عن دلجة بن قيس أن
لرجل أو قال له رجل أتذكر حين نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن النقير والمقير أو أحدهما وعن الدباء والحنتم قال نعم وأنا أشهد على ذلك قال أبو عبد الرحمن حدثني بعض أصحابنا قال سمعت عارما يقول تدرون لم سمي دلجة قلنا لا قال أدلجوا به إلى مكة فوضعته أمه في الدلجة في ذلك الوقت فسمي دلجة
