Laqeet bin Sabra reported,

The delegate of Banu Muntafiq, and Abdul-Razzaq said Muntafiq, set out with a companion of his to the Prophet ﷺ, but they did not find him. Ayesha gave them dates and asidah to eat. We had not waited long when the Prophet ﷺ came walking with a vigorous, swaying gait.He asked, "Did she give you food to eat?"We replied, "Yes."I said, "Messenger of Allah, I ask you about the prayer."He said, "Perform the ablution thoroughly, run water between your fingers, and when you draw water into your nose, do so deeply, unless you are fasting."I said, "Messenger of Allah, I have a wife," and he mentioned her foul speech.He said, "Divorce her."I said, "She has been my companion and has borne me a child."He said, "Then command her, or speak to her. If there is any good in her, she will respond. And do not strike your wife the way you would strike your slave-girl."While he was speaking, the shepherd drove the sheep into the pen, and in his hand was a newborn lamb.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Has she given birth?"The shepherd said, "Yes."He asked, "What did she bear?"The shepherd said, "A young lamb."He said, "Slaughter a sheep in its place."Then he turned to me and said, "Do not think," and he did not say "Let him not think," "that we slaughtered it on your account. We have a hundred sheep, and we do not wish them to increase beyond that. So whenever the shepherd has a lamb born, we order him to slaughter a sheep in its place."

عن عاصم بن لقيط عن أبيه

وافد بني المنفق وقال عبد الرزاق المنتفق أنه انطلق هو وصاحب له إلى النبي ﷺ فلم يجداه فأطعمتهما عائشة تمرا وعصيدة فلم نلبث أن جاء النبي ﷺ يتقلع يتكفأ فقال أطعمتهما قلنا نعم قلت يا رسول الله أسألك عن الصلاة قال أسبغ الوضوء وخلل الأصابع وإذا استنشقت فأبلغ إلا أن تكون صائما قلت يا رسول الله لي امرأة فذكر من بذائها قال طلقها قلت إن لها صحبة وولدا قال مرها أو قل لها فإن يكن فيها خير فستفعل ولا تضرب ظعينتك ضربك أميتك فبينا هو كذلك إذ دفع الراعي الغنم في المراح على يده سخلة فقال أولدت قال نعم قال ماذا قال بهمة قال اذبح مكانها شاة ثم أقبل علي فقال لا تحسبن ولم يقل لا يحسبن أن ما ذبحناها من أجلك لنا غنم مائة لا نحب أن تزيد عليها فإذا ولد الراعي بهمة أمرناه فذبح مكانها شاة
