The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you shoot your arrow at game and it disappears for three nights before you find it, eat from it as long as it has not putrefied."
حدثنا حماد بن خالد حدثنا معاوية عن عبد الرحمن بن جبير بن نفير عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا رميت بسهمك فغاب ثلاث ليال فأدركته فكل ما لم ينتن
Its isnad is sahih. Muawiya is Ibn Salih.The hadith was narrated by Daraqutni, 4/295, and something similar to it was narrated by Muslim, 3/1532, no. 1931, in the chapter on hunting, when the game is out of sight. Also Tirmidhi, 4/67, no. 1468, and Nasai, 7/194, no. 4303.
