I said, "Messenger of Allah, when the Quraysh meet one another, they greet each other with cheerful faces, but when they meet us, they meet us with faces we do not recognize."The Prophet ﷺ became intensely angry and said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, faith does not enter a man's heart until he loves you for the sake of Allah and His Messenger."
حدثنا يزيد هو ابن هارون أنبأنا إسماعيل يعني ابن أبي خالد عن يزيد بن أبي زياد عن عبد الله بن الحارث
قلت يا رسول الله إن قريشا إذا لقي بعضهم بعضا لقوهم ببشر حسن وإذا لقونا لقونا بوجوه لا نعرفها قال فغضب النبي ﷺ غضبا شديدا وقال والذي نفسي بيده لا يدخل قلب رجل الإيمان حتى يحبكم لله ولرسوله
