He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Allah, forgive those who shave their heads. Allah, forgive those who shave their heads."A man from the group said, "And those who shorten their hair?"On the third or fourth time, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ added, "And those who shorten their hair."He then said, "I had my head shaved that day, and I would not exchange the shaving of my head for red camels or any great prize."
حدثنا سريج بن النعمان حدثني أوس بن عبد الله أبو مقاتل السلولي قال حدثني بريد بن أبي مريم
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ وهو يقول اللهم اغفر للمحلقين اللهم اغفر للمحلقين قال يقول رجل من القوم والمقصرين فقال رسول الله ﷺ في الثالثة أو في الرابعة والمقصرين ثم قال وأنا يومئذ محلوق الرأس فما يسرني بحلق رأسي حمر النعم أو خطرا عظيما
Its isnad is sahih. Aws bin Ubaydullah, or Abdullah, Saluli, Abu Hatim said of him, "He occupies the position of truthfulness," and Ibn Hibban rated him trustworthy, as noted in Tajil. Yazid bin Abu Maryam Saluli Basri is trustworthy, Bukhari narrated from him in Adab and the four (Sunan compilers narrated from him as well). The hadith was mentioned previously at 17470.
