I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about stray camels that come to my watering troughs, "Will I be rewarded for giving them water?"He replied, "Yes, there is a reward for watering every living creature with a thirsty liver."

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muhammad bin Ishaq did not explicitly state that he heard it directly, and he is known to conceal his sources (mudallis), but he did hear from Zuhri. As for Abdul-Rahman bin Malik bin Jasham, the correct form is Abdul-Rahman bin Malik bin Malik, who is considered trustworthy by Nasai and Bukhari. Malik bin Malik bin Jasham is the brother of Suraqah, and he is among the trustworthy senior Successors who lived through both the pre-Islamic and Islamic periods (mukhadram).The hadith is found in Ibn Majah, 2/1215, no. 3686, in the Book of Manners, on removing harm, and in Tabarani's Al-Kabir, 7/126, no. 6587.
