Yaala bin Mura reported,

I bathed and applied khaluq perfume. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wipe our faces, but when he came close to me, he began to keep his hand away from the perfume. When he finished, he said, "Yala, what made you put on khaluq? Have you gotten married?"I replied, "No."He said to me, "Go and wash it off."So I went to a well and started plunging into it, then rubbing myself with dirt until it came off. Then I came back to him, and when the Prophet ﷺ saw me, he said, "He has returned in the goodness of his lofty faith, he has repented, and the sky has poured forth."

حدثنا عبيدة بن حميد حدثني عمر بن عبد الله بن يعلى بن مرة عن أبيه

عن جده يعلى بن مرة قال

اغتسلت وتخلقت بخلوق وكان رسول الله ﷺ يمسح وجوهنا فلما دنا مني جعل يجافي يده عن الخلوق فلما فرغ قال يا يعلى ما حملك على الخلوق أتزوجت قلت لا قال لي اذهب فاغسله قال فمررت على ركية فجعلت أقع فيها ثم جعلت أتدلك بالتراب حتى ذهب قال ثم جئت إليه فلما رآني النبي ﷺ قال عاد بخير دينه العلا تاب واستهلت السماء
