Abu Juhaym told me that two men disagreed about a verse of the Quran. One said, "I received it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," and the other said, "I received it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."So they asked the Prophet ﷺ about it, and he said, "The Quran is recited according to seven modes, so do not dispute about the Quran, for disputing about the Quran is disbelief."

حدثني أبو جهيم أن رجلين اختلفا في آية من القرآن فقال هذا تلقيتها من رسول الله ﷺ وقال الآخر تلقيتها من رسول الله ﷺ فسألا النبي ﷺ فقال القرآن يقرأ على سبعة أحرف فلا يماروا في القرآن فإن مراء في القرآن كفر
