People, do you not have in cotton and linen enough to free you from needing silk? Here is a man among you who can tell you about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Stand up, Uqba.So Uqba bin Amir stood up, and I was listening. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in the Fire.' And I bear witness that I heard him say, 'Whoever wears silk in this world will be forbidden from wearing it in the Hereafter.'"
حدثنا هارون بن معروف قال عبد الله وأظن أني سمعته منه قال حدثنا ابن وهب أخبرني عمرو أن هشام بن أبي رقية حدثه قال
يا أيها الناس أما لكم في العصب والكتان ما يكفيكم عن الحرير وهذا رجل فيكم يخبركم عن رسول الله ﷺ قم يا عقبة فقام عقبة بن عامر وأنا أسمع فقال إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من كذب علي متعمدا فليتبوأ مقعده من النار وأشهد أني سمعته يقول من لبس الحرير في الدنيا حرمه أن يلبسه في الآخرة
