We set out with Uqba bin Amir on a journey, and when the time for prayer came, we asked him to lead us. He refused and said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No servant leads a people in prayer except that he takes responsibility for whatever concerns their prayer. If he does well, the reward is his, and if he does poorly, the burden is upon him.'"
حدثنا عبد الله بن الحارث حدثني الأسلمي حدثني أبو علي الهمداني
خرجنا مع عقبة بن عامر في مخرج خرجناه فحانت صلاة فسألناه أن يؤمنا فأبى علينا وقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا يؤم عبد قوما إلا تولى ما كان عليهم في صلاتهم إن أحسن فله وإن أساء فعليه

Its isnad is daif, because of Aslami, who is Abdullah bin Amir Abu Amir Madani. As for Abdullah bin Harith, he is Makhzumi, and he is trustworthy. Abu Ali is Thumamah bin Shufayy Hamdani, and he is also trustworthy. The hadith previously appeared at 17332.
