The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us one day while we were in the Suffah and said, "Which of you would like to go out each morning to Bathan or al-Aqeeq and bring back two large, fine she-camels, taking them without sin and without severing ties of kinship?"We replied, "Messenger of Allah, every one of us would love that."He said, "For one of you to go to the mosque and learn two verses from the Book of Allah is better for him than two she-camels. Three verses are better than three, four are better than four, and so on with their like in number from among the camels."
حدثنا أبو عبد الرحمن حدثنا موسى بن علي قال سمعت أبي يقول سمعت
خرج علينا رسول الله ﷺ يوما ونحن في الصفة فقال أيكم يحب أن يغدو إلى بطحان أو العقيق فيأتي كل يوم بناقتين كوماوين زهراوين فيأخذهما في غير إثم ولا قطع رحم قال قلنا كلنا يا رسول الله يحب ذلك قال فلأن يغدو أحدكم إلى المسجد فيتعلم آيتين من كتاب الله خير له من ناقتين وثلاث خير من ثلاث وأربع خير من أربع ومن أعدادهن من الإبل
