We were traveling with Uqba bin Amir al-Juhani when the time for prayer came, and we wanted him to lead us. He said, "We said to him, 'You are one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and yet you will not lead us in prayer?'"He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever leads a people in prayer and performs it completely, the reward of completeness is his and theirs. But if he falls short, the reward of completeness is still theirs, and the sin falls upon him.'"
