We were sitting in the mosque reciting the Quran when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered and greeted us. We returned , and then he said, "Learn the Book of Allah and hold fast to it." The narrator said, I think he also said, "and chant it melodiously, for by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, it slips away faster than a pregnant camel breaking loose from its tether."
حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد حدثنا قباث بن رزين اللخمي قال سمعت علي بن رباح اللخمي يقول سمعت
كنا جلوسا في المسجد نقرأ القرآن فدخل رسول الله ﷺ فسلم علينا فرددنا عليه السلام ثم قال تعلموا كتاب الله واقتنوه قال وحسبته قال وتغنوا به فوالذي نفس محمد بيده لهو أشد تفلتا من المخاض من العقل
Its isnad is sahih. Qubath bin Razin Lakhmi is a well-known trustworthy narrator, a reciter well known to the specialists in Quranic readings. Ali bin Rabah is one of the trustworthy Successors, mentioned previously. The hadith has already appeared at 17250.
