The Prophet ﷺ said, "The miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned and yet he does not send blessings upon me ﷺ."
Its isnad is sahih. Umara bin Ghaziya, with a fatha on the ghayn, a kasra on the zay, and a shaddah on the yaa, bin Harith bin Amr Ansari, is reliable. Ahmad, Abu Zura, Ibn Saad, and others declared him reliable. Abdullah bin Ali bin Husayn is reliable, Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the reliable narrators, and Tirmidhi and Hakim graded his narrations sahih. His father, Ali bin Husayn bin Ali, is Zayn al-Abidin, a reliable Tabii, as we stated in 582. He did hear from his father, since it is established that he was twenty-three years old at the time Husayn was killed, and he was with him when he was killed at Karbala.Ibn Kathir mentioned this hadith in his Tafsir, 6:601, quoting from the Musnad, and said that Tirmidhi also narrated it through Sulayman bin Bilal, then said, this is a hasan sahih hadith. Some of the narrators attributed it to the Musnad of Husayn bin Ali, while others attributed it to the Musnad of Ali himself. It was also narrated by Ibn Sunni in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla, number 376, and by Hakim in Mustadrak, 1:459, through the route of Khalid bin Mukhlad Qatawani, who said, Sulayman bin Bilal narrated to us, Umara bin Ghaziya narrated to us, saying, I heard Abdullah bin Ali bin Husayn narrating from his father, from his grandfather. Hakim said, this hadith is sahih in isnad, though the two of them (Bukhari and Muslim) did not narrate it, and Dhahabi agreed with him.Munawi mentioned in his commentary on Jami Saghir, 3194, quoting from Fath, that it was also narrated by Nasai and Ibn Hibban. Haythami mentioned its meaning in Majma al-Zawaid, 10:164, and attributed it to Tabarani through another daif isnad. I do not know how he failed to attribute it to the Musnad, when it is there, as we can see, with a sahih isnad. The addition, namely his statement "Ali bin Husayn, from his father," had mistakenly dropped out of manuscript H, and we have restored it from manuscript K and from Ibn Kathir's Tafsir.
