Khalid bin Zayd reported,

Uqba used to come to me and say, "Come out with us so we may practice archery." One day I was slow to respond or felt reluctant, so he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Allah admits three people into Paradise on account of a single arrow: the one who makes it seeking good through it, the one who shoots it, and the one who hands it to the archer. So shoot and ride, though I prefer that you shoot rather than ride. Nothing counts as idle play except three things: a man's play with his wife, his training of his horse, and his shooting with his bow. Whoever is taught archery by Allah and then abandons it out of disinterest has rejected a blessing.'"

خالد بن زيد قال

كان عقبة يأتيني فيقول اخرج بنا نرمي فأبطأت عليه ذات يوم أو تثاقلت فقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن الله عز وجل يدخل بالسهم الواحد ثلاثة الجنة صانعه المحتسب فيه الخير والرامي به ومنبله فارموا واركبوا ولأن ترموا أحب إلي من أن تركبوا وليس من اللهو إلا ثلاث ملاعبة الرجل امرأته وتأديبه فرسه ورميه بقوسه ومن علمه الله الرمي فتركه رغبة عنه فنعمة كفرها
