The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the Maghrib prayer wearing a silk farruj, which is a type of qaba. When he finished his prayer, he tore it off forcefully and said, "This is not befitting for the God-fearing."
حدثنا محمد بن سلمة عن ابن إسحاق عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن مرثد بن عبد الله اليزني
صلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ المغرب وعليه فروج حرير وهو القباء فلما قضى صلاته نزعه نزعا عنيفا وقال إن هذا لا ينبغي للمتقين
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Ishaq uses "an" here, but he is corroborated. The hadith was narrated by Bukhari 1/484, no. 375 Fath, Muslim 3/1646, no. 2075, and Nasai 2/72, no. 770.
