I asked al-Hasan bin Ali, "What do you remember of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He said, "I remember that I once took a date from the dates of charity and put it in my mouth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ pulled it out, still wet with my saliva, and tossed it back among the dates."Someone said, "Messenger of Allah, what would it have mattered if you let this child have this date?"He replied, "We, the family of Muhammad, are not permitted to consume charity."He said, and he used to say, "Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt, for truthfulness is tranquility and lying is doubt."He said, and he used to teach us this supplication, "O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, grant me well-being among those You have granted well-being, take me as an ally among those You have taken as allies, bless for me what You have given, and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. For You decree and none decrees against You. Indeed, none whom You have befriended is humiliated."Shuba said, "I think he also said, 'Blessed are You, our Lord, and exalted.'"Shuba said, "Someone who heard this from him narrated it to me, then I heard him narrate this hadith on his way out to al-Mahdi after the death of his father, and he did not have any doubt about 'Blessed are You and exalted.'"So I said to Shuba, "You are uncertain about it."He replied, "There is no doubt about it."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت بريد بن أبي مريم يحدث
قلت للحسن بن علي ما تذكر من رسول الله ﷺ قال أذكر من رسول الله ﷺ أني أخذت تمرة من تمر الصدقة فجعلتها في في قال فنزعها رسول الله ﷺ بلعابها فجعلها في التمر فقيل يا رسول الله ما كان عليك من هذه التمرة لهذا الصبي قال وإنا آل محمد لا تحل لنا الصدقة قال وكان يقول دع ما يريبك إلى ما لا يريبك فإن الصدق طمأنينة وإن الكذب ريبة قال وكان يعلمنا هذا الدعاء اللهم اهدني فيمن هديت وعافني فيمن عافيت وتولني فيمن توليت وبارك لي فيما أعطيت وقني شر ما قضيت إنك تقضي ولا يقضى عليك إنه لا يذل من واليت قال شعبة وأظنه قد قال هذه أيضا تباركت ربنا وتعاليت قال شعبة وقد حدثني من سمع هذا منه ثم إني سمعته حدث بهذا الحديث مخرجه إلى المهدي بعد موت أبيه فلم يشك في تباركت وتعاليت فقلت لشعبة إنك تشك فيه فقال ليس فيه شك
