The Prophet ﷺ said, "What an excellent tribe are al-Asd and al-Ashariyun. They do not flee in battle, nor do they engage in misappropriation of spoils. They are from me, and I am from them."Amir said, "I narrated this to Muawiya, and he said, 'That is not how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said it. Rather, he said, "They are from me and to me."'"He replied, "That is not how my father narrated it to me from the Prophet ﷺ. Rather, he said, 'They are from me, and I am from them.'"Muawiya said, "Then you know better the hadith of your father."Abdullah said, "This is among the finest of hadith. None narrated it except Jareer."
حدثنا وهب بن جرير قال حدثنا أبي قال سمعت عبد الله بن ملاذ يحدث عن نمير بن أوس عن مالك بن مسروح
عن النبي ﷺ قال نعم الحي الأسد والأشعريون لا يفرون في القتال ولا يغلون هم مني وأنا منهم قال عامر فحدثت به معاوية فقال ليس هكذا قال رسول الله ﷺ ولكنه قال هم مني وإلي فقال ليس هكذا حدثني أبي عن النبي ﷺ ولكنه قال هم مني وأنا منهم قال فأنت إذا أعلم بحديث أبيك قال عبد الله هذا من أجود الحديث ما رواه إلا جرير
