The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who leads the people in prayer is the one who has memorized the most of the Book of Allah, and the one who learned to recite it earliest. If they are equal in recitation, then the one who emigrated earliest. If they are equal in emigration, then the eldest among them. A man is not to be led in prayer within his own domain of authority."Ismail added, "Nor in his own household, nor is anyone to sit in his place of honor."Ismail said, "In his house, except with his permission, or unless he gives you permission."
حدثنا يحيى عن شعبة قال حدثني إسماعيل بن رجاء وإسماعيل يعني ابن علية قال شعبة عن إسماعيل بن رجاء عن أوس بن ضمعج
عن النبي ﷺ قال يؤم القوم أقرؤهم لكتاب الله وأقدمهم قراءة فإن كانوا في القراءة سواء فأقدمهم هجرة فإن كانوا في الهجرة سواء فأكبرهم سنا ولا يؤمن الرجل في سلطانه قال إسماعيل ولا في أهله ولا يجلس على تكرمته قال إسماعيل في بيته إلا بإذنه أو يأذن لك
