It was asked, "Messenger of Allah, how shall we send blessings upon you?"He replied, "Say, 'O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim among all peoples. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.'"I read this hadith to Abdul-Rahman, from Malik, from Naeem bin Abdullah, that Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Zayd informed him, from Ubayy Masud.
Its isnad is sahih. Muhammad bin Abdullah is Ibn Zayd bin Abd Rabbih Ansari, and he is a well-known trustworthy narrator mentioned before. The hadith has already appeared at 11371, and we have already said that our saying "our master Muhammad" does not come from this text, but rather comes from His saying, exalted is He, "Do not make the calling of the Messenger among you" [the verse]. But those ignorant of the fundamentals are stubborn about this.
