The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a slave-woman who commits fornication while not married. He said, "Flog her. If she fornicates again, flog her." Then on the third or fourth occasion he said, "If she fornicates again, sell her, even for a rope." The dafir is a rope.

أن رسول الله ﷺ سئل عن الأمة تزني ولم تحصن قال اجلدها فإن زنت فاجلدها فقال في الثالثة أو في الرابعة فإن زنت فبعها ولو بضفير والضفير الحبل
