A man cursed a rooster that crowed in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not curse it, for it calls to prayer."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن صالح بن كيسان عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة
لعن رجل ديكا صاح عند النبي ﷺ فقال النبي ﷺ لا تلعنه فإنه يدعو إلى الصلاة
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are well-known trustworthy figures already discussed above. The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud 4/337, no. 5101, in the Book of Manners, in the chapter on what has been said about the rooster and animals, and by Ibn Hibban 448, no. 1990, and Munziri attributed it to both of them 3/474. It is also found in Abu Naeem's Hilyah 4/268, and it appears in the Sahihayn with similar wording, narrated by Bukhari 1/214, Shab edition, and Muslim 1/83, no. 71, and Abu Dawud 4/16, no. 4306, and Nasai 3/164, no. 1525.
