Muawiya bin Abu Sufyan reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "A group from my nation will continue to uphold the command of Allah. Those who forsake or oppose them will not harm them, until the decree of Allah comes while they remain victorious over the people."Then Malik bin Yukhamir al-Saksaki stood up and said, "Commander of the Believers, I heard Muaz bin Jabal say that they are the people of Sham."Muawiya then said, raising his voice, "This is Malik claiming that he heard Muaz say that they are the people of Sham."

حدثنا إسحاق بن عيسى قال حدثنا يحيى بن حمزة عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد بن جابر أن عمير بن هانئ حدثه قال سمعت

معاوية بن أبي سفيان على هذا المنبر يقول

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا تزال طائفة من أمتي قائمة بأمر الله لا يضرهم من خذلهم أو خالفهم حتى يأتي أمر الله عز وجل وهم ظاهرون على الناس فقام مالك بن يخامر السكسكي فقال يا أمير المؤمنين سمعت معاذ بن جبل يقول وهم أهل الشام فقال معاوية ورفع صوته هذا مالك يزعم أنه سمع معاذا يقول وهم أهل الشام
