The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will make a secure peace treaty with the Romans, and together you and they will fight an enemy behind them. You will be victorious and gain spoils. Then you will encamp in a meadow with hills. A man from the Romans will rise up, lift the cross, and proclaim, 'The cross has triumphed!' A man from the Muslims will rise up and kill him. At that point the Romans will betray the treaty, and great battles will ensue. They will gather against you and come to you under eighty banners, each banner leading ten thousand men."
حدثنا محمد بن مصعب هو القرقسائي قال حدثنا الأوزاعي عن حسان بن عطية عن خالد بن معدان عن جبير بن نفير
عن النبي ﷺ قال تصالحون الروم صلحا آمنا وتغزون أنتم وهم عدوا من ورائهم فتسلمون وتغنمون ثم تنزلون بمرج ذي تلول فيقوم إليه رجل من الروم فيرفع الصليب ويقول ألا غلب الصليب فيقوم إليه رجل من المسلمين فيقتله فعند ذلك تغدر الروم وتكون الملاحم فيجتمعون إليكم فيأتونكم في ثمانين غاية مع كل غاية عشرة آلاف
