Jubayr came along with Uthman bin Affan while they were speaking to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the share of the fifth from Hunayn that he had distributed between Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib.They said, "Messenger of Allah, you have given a share to our brothers Banu Muttalib and Banu Abd Manaf, but you have given us nothing, even though our kinship is the same as theirs."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "I consider Hashim and Muttalib to be one and the same."Jubayr said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not allot anything from that fifth to Banu Abd Shams or to Banu Nawfal as he did for Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي قال حدثني عبد الله بن المبارك عن يونس بن يزيد عن الزهري قال أخبرني سعيد بن المسيب قال حدثني
أنه جاء وعثمان بن عفان يكلمان رسول الله ﷺ فيما قسم من خمس حنين بين بني هاشم وبني المطلب فقالا يا رسول الله قسمت لإخواننا بني المطلب وبني عبد مناف ولم تعطنا شيئا وقرابتنا مثل قرابتهم فقال رسول الله ﷺ إنما أرى هاشما والمطلب شيئا واحدا قال جبير ولم يقسم رسول الله ﷺ لبني عبد شمس ولا لبني نوفل من ذلك الخمس كما قسم لبني هاشم وبني المطلب
Its isnad is sahih. This was already mentioned at 16713.16727m - I read to Abdul-Rahman from Malik. (H) Hammad Khayyat also narrated to me, from Malik, from Ibn Shihab, from Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mutim, from his father, who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite Surah Tur in Maghrib." Hammad said, "The Prophet ﷺ recited it."Sahih.(16727m) Its isnad is sahih. Hammad Khayyat is Ibn Khalid, and he was illiterate. He has been mentioned many times before, and his hadith is found in Muslim. See 16718.
