Its chain of transmission is daif, due to the unknown identity of the narrator who transmitted from the companion, and due to the weakness of Kathir bin Yahya bin Kathir, Abu Malik Hanafi. He has objectionable narrations, and Abbas bin Abdul-Azim used to warn against him, as mentioned in Tajil, although it is reported from Abu Zura that he said of him, "He is truthful." This hadith was mentioned earlier at 15372, and here it is among the additional narrations, whereas there it was narrated with the wording, "He heard it from the opening of the mouth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," meaning from the opening of his mouth, and this is a phrase used for emphasis.
